Why am I called LadyMartist? Very simple! Lady – Shouldn't need to be explained. Martist – Mariya the Artist. Now do you understand?. What is photography for me? Photography is not just a hobby or professional occupation, it is my life style, the way I look at the universe and, I think, the way it looks at me. I think that the best photographs are those which I could not take but they remain in my memory forever. But that doesn't mean I won't keep trying to capture them. Why so many self-portraits? Because I am the most accessible model for myself, the one very easy to deal with, the one who understands what I am trying to say.
